Neuroscience Gateway – Enabling Cyberinfrastructure for Computational Neuroscience

Computational neuroscience has seen tremendous growth in the recent years as evident from the large number of publications, in prestigious neuroscience journals, that are based on modeling. This has motivated development of several neuronal simulation environments which are opensource, mature and written for parallel computers. Similarly there has been significant growth of cyberinfrastructure (CI) such as high performance computing (HPC), fast networks, next generation data technologies, and software for complex workflow. Complex neuroscience problems, which involve network models, optimization or exploration of high dimensional parameter spaces, require access to HPC machines and data storage. Recorded on 02/05/2014.
